The story of Istanbul Corner began in Singapore in 1989, founded by the late Chef Ali Zorlu.
Originally from Hatay, Chef Ali brought with him the flavours, traditions and hospitality of his homeland, introducing generations of guests in Singapore to authentic Turkish cooking.
For nearly two decades, Istanbul Corner became a place where Turkish food and culture were shared around the table.
Today, Istanbul Corner continues its story in Seminyak, Bali, bringing the same Turkish flavours and hospitality to a new home.
Passed from one generation to the next.
After Chef Ali Zorlu passed away, his legacy continued through his family. His son, also a chef, carried forward the recipes, experience and philosophy behind Istanbul Corner preserving not only the food, but the hospitality and culture that had defined the restaurant from the beginning.
From Singapore to Bali.
In 2022, Istanbul Corner began a new chapter in Bali. The location changed, but the idea remained the same: serve honest Turkish food, respect its origins and make every guest feel welcome at the table. Today, Istanbul Corner continues that journey in Seminyak.
A cuisine shaped by history.
Our food is deeply influenced by Hatay, one of Turkey's richest culinary regions. Spices, grilled meats, mezze, freshly prepared doughs and recipes made for sharing all reflect a food culture that has been passed down through generations. Many of the ingredients and products that define our cuisine are sourced directly from Turkey, helping us preserve the flavours at the heart of Istanbul Corner.
